Our Staff
The staff members at Potter Funeral Home are committed to providing your family with the finest funeral services and products available. They are available to help you 24 hours per day seven days a week. The staff is led by Paul Cichon who has over 30 years of experience as a licensed funeral director, and, Brett Grant who has over 24 years of experience as a licensed funeral director. In addition, the staff includes licensed funeral directors Robert Rautio and Christopher Gromko, who are also committed to providing you the best service possible. All the staff of Potter Funeral Home are strong supporters of the local community.

Paul Cichon, President -

Paul was born and raised in Willimantic, CT and has worked for the Potter Funeral Home virtually all his life. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and New England Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences in Boston. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1979.

Brett Grant, Vice-President -

Brett was raised in Windsor Locks and has lived in Windham since 1975 when he married Dianne (Potter) Grant. He began work at the Potter Funeral Home in 1982. Brett is a graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences in Boston and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1984.

Robert Rautio -

Robert Rautio is a 1980 graduate of the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston. Although licensed as a funeral director and embalmer since 1982, Bob served many years in the emergency services field prior to returning to funeral service. He and his family reside in Canterbury and he is a deacon of the First Congregational Church of Canterbury.

Christopher Gromko -

Christopher Gromko is a graduate of Briarwood College in Southington and has been a licensed funeral director since 1995. He has been employed by the funeral home since 1996 . Chris grew up in Norwich and lives with his wife and children in Canterbury.

Louis E. Bacon -

Lou is a lifelong resident of Willimantic and a graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences in Boston. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1962 and has been employed by the Potter Funeral Home since 1987. Louis retired in May of 2003 and is now spending more time enjoying his family and outdoor sports.

John R. Smith -

John has lived in the Windham area all his life and is retired from the Republic Oil Co. You will most often meet him at our door during calling hours where he'll greet you with a smile and any assistance you might need.

John Griffin -

John is a lifelong resident of Willimantic and is retired from the Willimantic Fire Department after 30 years as a professional fire fighter. He mans our front door now during calling hours and stands ready to help you in any way necessary.
